The causal world
Causal reality is ordinary reality. Bodies, clocks, weather, work, money, illness, distance, physical matter, and consequence all belong to it. It is the world in which you can be late, hungry, wrong, injured, responsible, or required to pay a bill.
Spiritual practice does not cancel any of that. The causal world is where a human life takes form and where the consequences of what we do are lived.
The acausal world
Acausal is our name for another order of being. It is not understood through linear time and familiar physical cause and effect in the same way as the causal world. Satan, the Dark Gods, and other spiritual Entities belong to this part of our theology.
At first the word is only an idea in a book. It gains meaning through use. Worship, ritual, dream, place, attention, and repeated work give a practitioner something to connect the word to.
The nexion
A nexion is a point of contact between causal and acausal reality. A living person is the first example. The body is causal and perishable, while consciousness can turn deliberately toward the acausal through worship, memory, imagination, will, and ritual.
Places can gather that history as well. Return to the same room for worship every week. Light the same lamp, speak the same names, keep silence in the same place, and write there afterward. After a year the room will not feel like the room you began with. Old traditions say that the veil grows thin. The phrase survives because it says the thing cleanly.
Entities and the Dark Gods
Entity and Higher Entity are Church terms for acausal intelligences with their own consciousness and will. We often use those words instead of demon because demon arrives with a set of Christian assumptions that are not ours.
The Dark Gods belong to a particular current within this metaphysics. Atazoth, Shugara, Noctulius, Nythra, Kthunae, Davcina, Baphomet, and other names appear in the deeper canon. They are approached as beings.
A Neophyte does not need to rush toward the strangest names in the books. Learn the foundation first. The names make more sense once worship, attention, ritual, and record-keeping have become familiar parts of practice.
Wyrd, physis, aletheia, and pathei-mathos
Wyrd is the pattern a life makes over time through nature, choice, circumstance, and consequence. Physis is the inward nature of a thing. Aletheia is truth coming out of concealment. Pathei-mathos is the change in understanding that comes from what has actually been lived through.
These words stayed in the Church's writing because they remain useful in practice. When a word stops helping you see something more clearly, repeating it more loudly will not save it.
Words We Use: a quick reference
Where this language came from
The High Satanic Church is independent. We are not an Order of Nine Angles nexion and we have no organisational relationship with O9A. At the same time, some of our language has a clear history there and in the work of David Myatt. Hiding that would be pointless.
The causal and acausal distinction, nexion, parts of the Septenary system, the Tree of Wyrd, the Dark Gods material, and several methods of chant and vibration came through that older sinister current. We kept what became useful in our own religion and continued working with it.
Some O9A religious material is good, and we have no problem saying so. What we reject is the neo-Nazi politics, racial ideology, criminality, and fixation on violence that became attached to parts of the current. That extremism did not deepen the religion. It turned a serious esoteric current into a clown show.
We can read Myatt or O9A material for metaphysics without treating the whole movement as scripture, authority, or a model for this Church. Traditions borrow. What matters is what a borrowed idea becomes after it changes hands.
Why we still use the word acausal
Because it still does useful work. It gives us a clear way to speak about ordinary causal existence, the order of being toward which worship is directed, and the nexion where the two meet.
The word is only worth keeping if practice makes it more precise. If it stays nothing more than an exotic word, adding more exotic words around it will not help.
